UK Scots Guards deliver ceremonial welcome for the Pakistan Army Chief of Staff. ASIM MUNIR.
In a display of fine British pageantry and military precision, The Pakistan Army Chief of Staff, General Asim Munir, was given a splendid welcome at Horse Guards Parade on Tuesday, 18th February 2025.
General Asim Munir, was received with full ceremonial honours for his meeting with the UK Chief of the General Staff, underscoring the deep ties between the two nations. The Pak-UK Defence relationship draws its strength from shared objectives for global peace and security.

Welcoming the two Army Chiefs to the London Army Headquarters early this morning was Brigadier Broughton, Deputy Commander London District, who led the VIPs through the historic arches of Horse Guards. General Asim Munir was invited to inspect the ceremonial Guard of Honour on Horse Guards Parade.

F Company, Scots Guards' immaculate Guard of Honour was complemented by the music of the Band of the Welsh Guards, who performed the Pakistani national anthem with military precision, along with an array of popular regimental marches.

Following the ceremony, General Asim Munir and his British counterpart, the UK Chief of the General Staff, retired to the Ministry of Defence's headquarters in Whitehall for a series of high-level bilateral discussions. The visit reaffirms the UK's commitment to its Asian partners and highlights the close working relationship with Pakistan, particularly in the face of ongoing global security challenges and relentless change.
